Hi all
I picked this plate up today in total amazement for just £3 in the charity shop, it has to be on of the most gorgeous plates ive ever seen and ive fallen madly in love with it (infact i keep finding myself carressing it whilst sat on the sofa in a bit of a day dream
)
It really is 100 times better than i could ever photograph.
Ok Top quality glass, it has iridescent finish which has what i would say is like a crackled effect to it?? satin touch (really tactile)
The underside has green strapping with 3 large blobs over each blob is a gold/bronze coloured effect which is rough to the touch which has been pushed and wonderfully (and very skillfully) feathered. Im not sure if its intentional i would imagine it is but they look like peacocks feathers.
The underside has a ground out and well polished pontil. There is barely a scratch on it infact i would go so far to say it looks as though it came straight from the glory hole yesterday
It is 29cms in diameter and weighs just short of 1kg
My god its beautiful.. i mean ive well and truly fallen madly in love.
Does any body have any ideas who it might be?? when i first saw it i thought Iestyn Davies as it has a similar feel to the Visage vase i had but its even better quality.
many thanks in advance
Michelle
