'Black' glass stand,for what?

Saw a post recently about a stand and remembered this,6 inches across 1.5 high, fair bit of wear,any ideas please,Keith.

Hi
I have 2 of these 1 of them came with a tall green Deco vase that fits perfectly into the stand.I have also seen another stand the same as this with a blue frosted tall vase with 2 mermaids swimming around it.
I think this could have been made by Stolze as there are bowls,vases,dressing table sets,saucers with the same scroll pattern.
