Evening John,
I can see where your coming from. I wonder where Jindrich found her similar Chribska similarities from as referred to in your May posting.,Perhaps she can elaborate assuming of course she visits this discussion. I know Michelle mentioned  Chribska as being a possible source.

Nothing has happened, Bryn, when love is true, sex is not important  :D

Your piece is probably Skrdlovice, 1950, designed by Jan Broz, pattern 5018.

As usual I would like to ask you for permission store and use and possibly publish in future your picture in my Czechoslovakian glass database.

Jindrich

Many thanks Jindrich, :hiclp: sorry about my confusion. You can of course use the photo as you wish although I think John has already supplied you with some photo's of his identical vase.
I am off for a few days break in the West Country now so I won't be able to reply to any new posts until I return on Thursday.
Thanks again,
Bryn

Thank you and John for the permisions, it is only one way I can complete my database.

Sorry I do not know what is West Country, for me it was for many years everything what was not a part of Soviet Imperium :-)

Anyway, enjoy your days there.

Jindrich

The 'West Country' refers to the South West part of England, which of course is east of our location here in South Wales  ::).

Some Welsh people (many more a hundred years ago) regard the English in a similar way that I guess the Czech peoples considered their Soviet occupiers, it is not that long ago that use of the Welsh language was punished and Welsh culture suppressed. There are still plenty of prejudices amongst the English in relation to Welsh people, backward, untrustworthy, etc. I could argue that the English mongrel culture and language is second rate compared to the very much older lyrical Welsh language and traditions, but I can't be bothered as life is far too short. ;D

Careful guys, this could end up in the Cafe! Mind you, sharing a Latte and a Bacon Buttie might be just what's needed for a bit of entente cordiale! :)
