Baccarat Ice Bucket
« on: October 10, 2009, 01:07:26 AM »
Just bought a excellent condition Baccarat Ice Bucket from a car boot. There is an acid mark on the base -Baccarat France and a bottle and glasses. In the 20thc Glass book it only said the acid mark used from 1936. Is there any way find out how old is it?  I was shocked to see that a new Baccarat Ice Bucket is so expensive to buy and l paid so little for my bucket.

Hello If it was younger than 1936 it would have a number tiny but visible when turned to the light on the base.  If you could kindly submit a pic of the signature it would be easier to give you an idea of date and also if the items are genuine.

Thanks Margi. I know it is after 1936 but just try to narrow down the years. I also know is not very new as it has a chrome or plated handle where modern one is made from stainless steel. The design of the handle is also change from round knot to flat one. The ice bucket is a quality work even the handle is good quality.  I will put photo of the mark here over the weekend.

Here is the acid mark on the base. Only 10mm diameter.
