A deep ruby long shot vase ID request. No photo.
« on: November 04, 2009, 04:42:34 PM »
Hello

It's a bit mad to request an ID on something I have no image of (perhaps replies could come in the form of pictures of items that might match?)

It's a faceted item - like a Davidson Column Vase but maybe double the number of facets.  It's general body silhouette is rather a classic urn shape, and it stands about 5-6" tall.  It's made of thick, heavy and deep, deep, deep ruby glass and (I would guess) 1920-30's.

Sorry if this is crazy.  Any help appreciated, if it rings any bells with you.

Stu.

Hi Stu that reminds me of my first job before any of our members were born , i worked in a photo processing lab  (black and white negatives) an old dear came in and said we had a couple of pictures done last year of my
Grandaughter we have lost them can you do some more , i said ok leave the neg with us she said i dont have the negative but thought you may remember it , she then described her Grandaughter in great detail . A bit like your vase . ;D  ::) hope to see you at Birmingham  jp . Sorry just seen where you live .

Yeah, I am pushing the realms of reason somewhat.  I suppose it should have just been an appeal for dark ruby faceted vase pictures.   :24:

Cheers,
