Oozing quality but disappointingly 'stiff' engraving.

Experience teaches that anyone who begins to collect in any field can feel a change in his soul. He becomes a joyful man filled with a deeper empathy, and a more open understanding moves his soul.
Alfred Lichtwark (1852-1914)

All those negs from one buyer... which is also a little odd. Although one gave a neutral on MG being painted and not enamelled... so looking closer...

If it was a fake it might explain the engraving, metal looks good though... at least if it was bronze... but then the inside view of the base jars with the tarnishing and if it was regilded... how come the hallmark is so worn but elsewhere crisp. Things just do not add up here.

And with such a lump where is its provenance?

Is it gilded?
If so the gilding would fade before the hallmark,
and i agree the engraving is not very impressive :-\
Very dodgy! ( i hadnt really looked too closely)
