Rocksmom, thanks for posting your photos!  I love William Burchfield's work and feel fortunate to have 8 of his weights, possibly 9 if you count the little rose crown.  At this time, Pairpoint seems more likely based on the configuration of the rose although it has been suggested the weight could be a product of the Davis Marble artists , something I am still pondering. ::)

If you look very closely at the signature in your Burchfield Rose Crown, I believe you will find it is wBc.  The 'w' can partially overlap the B which would cause it to appear 'J' like.

I look forward to seeing your Parabelle and Pairpoint weights.

My best .... Lily :)

wBc certainly makes more sense than jBc!  I was curious about the monogram when I looked at it with my loupe yesterday.  Another mystery solved!

A similar weight (with what looks like an identically made rose cane) is up on ebay now:

Interesting, alpha.  The small weight appears to be from the same artist is mine; the roses are almost identical as far as I can tell.  I might take issue with "old" as my weight is virtually pristine (restoration?) giving the impression of newer and very well cared for.  The one in the offering also looks to be in very good condition; although that does not always mean recent.

Thank you .... Lily :)
