Signed unknown bowl
« on: February 23, 2010, 06:47:35 PM »
What Ho! Any help here greatly appreciated. This bowl is really well made, its 5 1/8 tall and 8 1/4 across, purple and white on the inside and speckled blue with gold on the outside. The foot is a solid blue and it is signed with a snapped pontil. Thx for looking.

A little bit of talcum powder on the mark, then lightly brushed off so it only stays in the etching, can help the image no end.
Alternatively, put the talc on your finger and pass it over the mark.

What Ho! I don't actually own any talc, can you still buy that stuff  ;) but i have got a better picture. The bottom bit is the date 2000, the first word maybe Ash or Carl and the second may start with CE. Any help most appreciated, Wolfie

You're in Australia, aren't you? You could try contacting Anne Clifton, to see whether she recognises it as her own. Alternatively, you could browse through the Ausglass member gallery to try to find a likely name.
