Andy - appreciate the couple of posts since I stared typing, but think some of this at least is relevant.

. I've seen a few pieces of this type over the past year or so, and probably wudn't now buy any unless it was exceptional. But how surprising that pieces made back in the middle of the C19 shud have survided so well - at least I don't see any with chips. I rushed to look in both of Barrie Skelcher's books thinking that without fail he wud have 'chrysoprase' in the index - but no. However, within the text he does refer to a C19 Webb's mixture called 'Chrysoprase Green', so this must be the same thing as like what we are discussing. But just to confuse matters Skelcher goes on to index what he calls 'Green Opaline' - which contains U., and looks very much like 'Chrysoprase' - so now I am confused. He also mentions something called 'Chrysophis', in several shades of green or yellow.
Perhaps Lustrusstone will clarify this for us
