« on: April 25, 2010, 08:51:34 PM »
Hoping someone here can help. I am not normally drawn to this type of glass but for some unknown reason I was. I have posted the pics on my blog under Recent Finds:

Thanks.

HI,   I have a clear glass vase with the identical round cane patterns on it.  Mine is from the scilly Isles and has the name pressed into the bottom. Maybe different makers used the same cane decoration made else where?  Just a guess!!!   Cheryl

Thank you for looking. I posted this on the eBay board as well and Chinese seems to be the consensus.

Thank you.

The canes were not made in the Scilly Isles; it's a specialist technique. They are made in China and Murano for use elsewhere. These look too simple and brightly coloured for Murano ones.

I agree the canes come from somewhere other than Scilly Isles, they are very brightly coloured, makes an otherwise very boring piece of glass a bit more interesting to look at.   ;D  Cheryl
