Topic: Yellow Flower PW ---- (Out of my league here)

Hi, I have no experience with PW here - but have always wanted some since I have been a member here.  We I just bought some so I need help as I have no idea about them at all.  Sorry for the photos, some good, some bad.  

This has a yellow flower in it, it is not a complete round shaped as one might imagine.  I wrote the height somewhere, but misplaced it already.  The base appears to have some wear on it.  I think it was 3 inches tall.  (I will re-check on that.....)  Any ideas on it?  Age, maker, etc?  Is this Chinese?  If it is -- I still like it

Yes Chinese. Some of the flower ones are very pretty

Thxs lustrousstone.....is there a certain name for the shape?  As it is not round, round like one would imagine.  It kinda goes up, then starts to round over at the top.  The sides are a bit straighter near the bottom -- if you know what I mean.

I like it cuz it can FILL all those tiny little empty spaces STILL left in my china glass.... :24:   See, there is a use for them  :thup:

As a general point of Id, Chinese flower weights very often (or even "usually") have three (or two?) thin green stems/leaves beneath the flower. That feature, when present, is as good as a generic "Made in China" label.

Okey Dokey -- so if you see that -- it is Chinese?  I will have to roam around here a bit more as I no nothing about them, but I like them too - and they are about the only thing that fits (in the spaces) in my Glass Cabinet.  LOL

Can we buy Glass Cabinets off here - - - :24:

Don't need to put them in spaces in cabinets ... I have at least 60 paperweights on the floor as a channel to my tv - and they are not just cheap and cheerful ones

Oh Wow.....that is neat.  You are right, as there are many other places for them -- and what a collection there  :thup: :thup:  Super.

I guess my yellow Chinese PW can be used as a *door Stop*   :24: Oh, well -- I have to live and learn...

Your Chinese paperweight should be used for what it is - a nice example of a gift item of a type that many folk enjoy; and it should be treated as part of a collection just like any other item you buy because you like it and/or chose to have it for its interest etc.

A collection of general Chinese weights can make a wonderful display.
