Topic: ID for round impressed glass objects,from England 50yrs ago

Hi,hopefully the 2 round glass objects with impressed naked lady figures fetching water, can now be seen with pictures (had trouble loading pics).
These 2 are 17cms (6.5") in diameter & 1cms(0.5") in width, unevenly made. The lady & scene are impressed in the glass, with residue of paint which has worn away over the years.
These 2 found in Australia & brought here from England about 50 years ago.I am presuming they are English but would like to know more about them. What are they & makers name.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Seajay and welcome to the board.

It's quite possible that this isn't English, as it bears a resemblance to a particularly beautiful type of Carnival glass that was made in Poland. Is the paint shiny and iridescent at all? Unfortunately if that's the case, the loss of the colour is significant damage.

You might get a better result if this thread is moved to the general Glass board. I'll move the thread for you.

Thanks for your reply.The paint residue is flat & not irridescent (unfortunately).Could they be carnival prizes?

Hi Frank, yes they are flat on the back. The other side has the scene impressed.

The undersides don't look ground and polished, so that's evidence against the Polish companies (I guess!).
