This was the first ever piece on my collection 2 years ago in Pink. I was advised it was Walther Sohne design and there is s similar vase design. However never seen another one until i was visiting York Antique centre And saw one in blue listed as Czech!!!

Your choice! I have to seen I have seen similar designs on a vase on eBay as Walther!!!

Kindest regards Antoinette

Thank you for your reply Antoinette.
I have researched Walther & Sohne and although they do have several designs with ladies on I have not yet found one like this. I am not entirely convinced at the moment that it is a Walther & Sohne design so hopefully someone somewhere may have some more information ?
I have attached another photo to give a different view.

Have a look at Pamela's Walther collection and her catalogues to see if you can find a match... http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/ and http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/

There is no match on my pages, I'm afraid - I don't know the maker either  ::)

However, I'm pretty sure it's not a Walther item, neither Dresden nor Siebenstern  8)

Hi everyone
The green reminds me of Sowerby?

I know where you are coming from Nige! The hue is very Sowerby - as I said I saw the same piece as this in an ice cool blue in York Antiques Centre a couple of months ago and they described the piece as Czech...?

My piece is a lovely vibrant pink not like the pink you see in Soweby or Walther that is "peachy"..
(PS Saw your lovely Lucretia the other day but broke as just paid for me holidays and poss moving house this summer!)

I think she is likely to be one of the lovely great unlisted Czech pieces

There is a lot of unidentified glass in this "Sowerby" uranium hue. My suspect would be a Czech company.

Thanks to Anne, Pamela, Oyemicanto, Antoinette & Lustrousstone for your comments, it looks like I'm going to struggle to get an I.D. for this piece. However it is very beautiful and I paid £3 for it at a car boot stall so I'm happy  I've got a pretty nice item for very little money, thanks again everyone.

Deffo a bargain! WELL DONE!

I picked mine up from a little old lady who came all the way to my hotel in Liverpool who was lovely! (cost me 8.00 and a cup of coffee at the Holiday Inn - so the bowl was cheaper!)

However this started me on my quest for now an evolving 20-something collection of Walther, Sowerby and Bagley and the odd bit of Cambridge glass!
