Green wide necked vase for id
« on: September 01, 2010, 07:38:34 PM »
I found this one today - anyone recognise it?

I was thinking when I saw it that it may be Dartington but examining  it, it doesn't appear to be particularly well made and there are no markings of any kind.

It does shows a fair amount of base wear with a polished pontil mark.

That looks more like a carafe than a vase.  It's the kind of green I associate with Empoli but that's only a guess.   :)

Empoli white wine decanter for restaurant use, comes in 1/4 l, 1/2 l and 1/1 l - circa 1970s.

That sounds conclusive enough - Thanks Ivo.
