ID Reqd please. Glasses - star cut? Bohemian?
« on: September 02, 2010, 08:43:01 PM »
I got these from a charity shop, I have 6 of them and they are perfect - I paid £8 for the whole set.  I wonder if these were possibly Czech Bohemia in origin - they look very similar to what I can find on the internet, but again I can't find these exact ones.  They have a starcut like pattern and this is between triangles filled in with with very close cross hatching.  The stems have ridging cut into them.  When I pick them up they feel heavy and 'quality'.  I'd love to know if they actually are please?

OK, I gleaned from advice in another thread that my piccies could be improved upon with a dark filling in the clear glass.  After a little experimentation pushed by not wanting to get the decanter wet if I could help it I've resorted to stuffing the things with black ladies stockings.  Do these piccies help any?  N.B. Do you think I'm paying the right sort of cash for my finds too too :-)

What can you get for just over £1 per item? The stockings help a bit, but a plain background helps too, dark if possible for colourless glass.

Hi Christine,

I'm happy to be educated re: the photos, how are these?

Julia
