Vase -- Just Pretty
« on: September 04, 2010, 09:02:27 AM »

Hi -- I do not think this is anything but  :or:, and I think it is New -- but I just kinda liked the colors in it.  The vase is quite bulbous, and about 14 inches high, and 7 inches wide.  Nothing fancy on the base, nor any wear.  The inside (where is it green) is almost like plastic, or a type of resin (??)

I just thought it was pretty with the kinda splashes of foil colors.  So I am not expecting to hear anything -- but "Its Pretty"   :24:

Took some photos with/without flash.....the 3 without the flash are more the colors of it.....Just Pretty ;D

Almost  here....

hi Rose  -  very attractive, and think you are possibly right with the  :or:
Is that a pink 'tab' you've dropped down on the white base  - or just one of your pyjama buttons >:D

My gran would have liked the greens in that.  I'm surprised looking at this board how much of the glass discussed is opaquely coloured.  I would have thought that the beauty of glass was in being able to see through it and that if you wanted coloured things pottery/porcelain would be the preferred medium, but that seems to not be the case - I shall have to start looking out for opaquely coloured well made glass object and see if I can find a gem myself!!

The shape reminds me a lot of Imperial, but I've never seen this decoration or casing in their work. Pretty vase, even if it does turn out to be Chinese.

(Aside: I found a great Imperial Glass art glass site while checking to see if I could find this decor. I put the link under the Glass Reference section if anyone is interested.)
