Large tango console bowl - Bohemian but who please?
« on: October 24, 2010, 03:35:43 PM »
I think this shape has been on the board before a few years ago but couldn't quite see if it was the same and a maker wasn't id'd.  My searches haven't thrown up anything I can see that is exactly the same except a similar bowl not footed, green, id'd as Loetz and on a BIN for $3000  :thud:  - Obviously I'd love mine to be in that league but I'm guessing it isn't  :24:
And... I needed a chance to show off the planter I bought today which makes a fab stand for it next to my lilac vase  :hiclp:
The bowl is just under 9 3/4 inches wide and 3 inches high and is footed.  The pontil is polished beautifully, smooth not matt but not entirely glossy.
Thanks for any help.

Think you might have to be happy with Bohemian on this one, there seems to be lots around of varying shapes and quality,a polished pontil mark is usually a sign of a better finished piece but putting a name will be difficult, inc' pic' of my 'tango' bowl (back right) ;D

thanks Keith.  I think you're probably right.
Mind you I have to say I haven't seen that many to be honest.  I collect orange glass and have done for years and this is the first I have seen.
Your bowl looks a different shape to mine - is it footed as well with the polished pontil?
thanks again
