Saw a Caithness weight in a shop a few weeks ago. As I recollect, it was basically green and egg-shaped with two holes on opposite sides which were too small to be for pens. At first I thought maybe they were for incense sticks but the holes went straight in, not with a downward slant, which didn't seem particularly safe for burning something. The holes did not connect. There may have been some controlled bubbles surrounding the holes.
On the bottom was etched Caithness Object D'Art Scotland
On the outer edge of the base was the letter "y" with three numbers I cannot recall.
I have no photo and didn't find the weight particularly attractive, but was curious about it after I got home.
Anybody have any information?
