Probably modern brown clear and white flecked vase?
« on: February 11, 2011, 07:31:06 AM »
This was very much an impulse buy as I liked it on sight and was willing to pay the price. It doesn't have much wear, it's probably modern Chinese or Polish, but I still like it very much. Currently part of my 'big bold vases' monthly window-sill exhibition.

The way the base is polished might provide some clues (to others - I'm still notoriously thick on technical details like that :) )
Let's see, it's 19.5 cm high, 22 cm bij 10 cm at the rim. The base I forgot exactly, but probably 10cm by 7cm.

Anyone seen something similar lately?

Nice one, but looks more "together" than much modern Chinese, so perhaps from elsewhere.

Yes, I love the design - if not Chinese, Polish (or perhaps Roumania or Lithuania) would be my next guess.

The seller thought it was perhaps Scandinavian, but it doesn't have that feel to me. I don't expect it to be Murano (but perhaps more because that would be weird for me. I bought so many pieces that were wrongly IDd as Murano that I would scratch my head if I bought one accidently that was!)
