Isle of Wight perfume bottle - which range?
« on: February 12, 2011, 11:03:46 AM »
Hi - Am getting hooked on IOW perfume bottles..... just received this gorgeous thing in the mail. Have been looking in my book but can't quite decide which range it is. I am veering towards Sweet Pea. If not that then possibly Flower garden.  The black/gold  label would fit with the time frame fpr either of those too.

Any opinions welcomed. It is absolutely stunning - much better in reality  than in the photos   ;D It is quite small - 10 cm or 4 inches high including stopper. Maximum width 2 inches or 5 cm. The colours look like crumpled flower petals under  a clear glass coating

Thanks Anne, I think so too.
this parcel arrived at the same time as another, which contained a Caithness Zenith perfume bottle. Lovely in its own right, but opening the parcel immediately after this one made it seem clumsy almost. I'll have to separate them to appreciate the Zenith properly I think. Meantime I'll just drool over this one for a while first  :girlcheer:

Would love to see the Caithness one too if you can post pics. I adore perfume bottles - they complement the trinket sets as well of course.

Hi Anne - Here they are. The Zenith is much larger and heavier as you can see in the photo of the two together. Has two slices cut from opposite sides to show the pattern within. rather nice too. It is 19 of 150 but from Scotlands Glass site only 125 were sold.  Not sure if you would find a trinket set to go with this style though?

I have "accidentally" acquired a collection of perfume bottles over the last year it seems, 2 IOW,3 Michael Hook, and the rest Caithness - I now have 14, and that is after having just given away 3 as presents - one "good" one, a Michael Hook (Australian) and two bog standard Caithness swirl ones. One of these days I will set up a photo gallery!
