Lalique style - not marked - help with id please
« on: February 14, 2011, 10:14:56 PM »
Hi All

This interesting vase has puzzled me since I bought it about 10 years ago. It has black enamel type decoration and a worn base with no mark. It looks like some Lalique pieces - anyone out there have any bright ideas  :pb:

Thanks

Hazel

It reminds me of some Bohemian pieces I've seen somewhere  :-\ I think but that may just be the deco type pattern and the colours... I'll have a search and see.  Edited to add, I was thinking I think... of Palda but I think they are heavier chunky cut and enamelled?  so I'm probably wrong  and see link below

The Bohemian one with similar style decoration might be the vase that is on the cover of the book "Bohemian Glass Tradition and Present" by Antonin Langhamer. That particular vase has also black painted decoration in pointy patterns. It was a 1924 vase from the Bohemian glassworks at Klastersky Mlyn (that would probably have been Loetz Witwe?)
