Hi there
I have 6 hock glasses
green tops, heavily engravedwith clear cut stems and star bottoms 19cm tall and heavy

i am trying to find out more about these stunning glasses

can anybody help?

You only need to post on one board. Best start off in general glass, then it can be moved if necessary.

Yes welcome to the GMB. Can you give details about the Walsh attributio? Presumably they're marked on the base?

Although good advice to post on the general glass section, it says quite conclusively 'Walsh' in the title - doesn't that make it British?? Sorry, I'm not picking on you, but really making a point, I've given up on the number of threads being posted on the general board (even by folks who have been members for years) that should be under the British glass section, but stay on the general forum regardless

Sometimes I don't bother looking on the general section, so can miss them - I can't be the only one

hello roman   -  According to Eric Reynolds (see below), the back stamps for Walsh were produced by acid etching, and after the initial registration of the trade mark 'WALSH' in 1926, it was just this one word that was shown as the back stamp, for the approximate period 1926 to c. 1930.       Subsequently this back stamp was modified to include the word 'ENGLAND' (underneath) for the period c.1930 to 1951.     I have looked thru the large number of pages within Reynold's volume showing reproductions of pages from the Factory Pattern Books  -  and there are indeed several cut designs for hock glasses.    Unfortunately, either due to my eyesight or the small detail on the pages, I am unsure as to which pattern your particular glasses belong.    Perhaps someone else is able to improve on my efforts.
