Ground Polished Pontil Scar (inside ?????)
« on: March 01, 2011, 10:22:57 PM »
 :hi:

Hi, I found this and thought it was different.  Clearly the polished mark in Not on the Outside base of the item -- but rather on the inside.  Has anyone seen anything like this -- or am I just DOH.  Please see the pics of this small vase about 5 inches tall.

...Or do I just need new  8)        LOL      :wsh:

Thanks
:fwr: Rose

Can't tell from the photos Rose, but I would try my UV light on it.

Thanks Lustrousstone -- but I did, and it has no glow.  I know it looks like it (another reason I bought it) but I did try it already.  So No glow.  I do not know how to describe the color.  It is not yellow, kinda a ??? custard color ??? but certainly no glow even a little bit.

Still a mystery as why the mark is on the inside?

It looks more like a mould mark than a pontil scar - perhaps from the end of a plunger thingy?

We should start a section called "The Weird and the Wonderful Side to Glass."

....and I am serious about that.  We have found some Misfits, weird items and the Such.  Kinda just a *Show and Tell* of weird glass things that are different...

  Good one Keith!!!
