Per Lutken jug ?? / Holmegaard jug ?? with pinched rim
« on: March 20, 2011, 09:01:53 PM »
Hi, I'm still a novice here and would appreciate any help, measure's 18.5 cm high / 13 cm diameter, the foot as age related wear although not to sure on date, if this was intended for use for pouring anything then it is a bad design as you would spill half the contents, If I were to guess at origins I would say Scandinavian but hopefully someone will 100% ID what its for and where its from. Thanks in advance.

Rob.

It looks somewhat like a Holmegaard design.  Is the glass a pale blue.  If so it is probably Holmegaard.  You can look up at the following site

http://www.glashistoriskselskab.dk/   Danish Glass Museum

Hopefully they will have a replica of yours.

Hi, cocktail jug? remember seeing a post of these a few years back on Whitefriars.com similar came in a cocktail set made for Asprey's think these had a larger foot though, if you read down the thread you will see it' could Scandinavian, Per Lutken from the "Tivoli" series according to Nic (he is normally pretty savvy with his Holmegaard)

Thanks Ross and Chris for the links provided, I don't see the blue tinge in my piece Ross however... It does look very similar to the one in the link provided by Chris.
Maybe Nic could confirm one way or the other if this is Per Lutken Holmegaard? I have filled this with water to see how well it would pour... It made quite a mess of it

Thanks again.

Rob.

This is the series by Per Lutken - called Tivoli.
TIVOLI

1958-
Per Lütken
Holmegaard Glasværk

You can see it at the museum site or at the hardernet.dk site.  There appears to be a clear one shown on the latter site.

Failing that wait for Peter Harder to verify - he is amazing and so helpful.

Thought you might of got it Ross for a moment  :spls: I've browsed at peter's site they do look to be the same and peter has also added the weight of his pieces, my piece weigh's 607 grams but I'm not sure if the weight would be the same on every piece or not? even tho the dimensions tally up? Thanks for all your help Ross much appreciated.

Would it be cheeky to ask a mod to maybe slightly change the title to something like Per Lutken jug?? / Holmegaard jug??  :chky:

Thanks again Ross / Anne.
