The colours reminded me of a Vas Vitreum , Sweden, vase I have.  Hardly typical Scandinavian colours but there you go.

David

Soon as I posted I thought also of Harrachov, who did use bubbles. See this Harrtil piece. Oh the dangers of identifying by colours.

Very odd piece alfie. The colours remind me of some Hineri pieces I have seen but the bullicante throws me! The Japanese have rarely used bullicante in there pieces. Am either wondering if it could be studio glass Japanese piece or further afield to Eastern Europe. Even the shape of it is something I have not seen in Japanese Glass.

The bullicante looks very good and the colour of the clear glass is excellent. It looks well made.

Sorry, only scimmed through the responses. What is the weight of the piece?

I thought Czech when I saw it.  I'm sure I've seen something similar id'd as Czechoslovakian.  I'll have a search round.

It doesn't look like Caithness to me - I have a few books on them and there are no vases with controlled bubbles like this one.

Cyclone has controlled bubbles, page 87 if you have Mark Hill's book on Caithness.

Yes your right - my mistake - I am away from my books at present - well I have a few but not Mark Hill's book.
