trying to find  a better date area to look at for you so the search is narrower - my vase was in May 74 CGR.  I think 72-74 probably a good area to start looking first.

Brilliant! Thanks 'm."  Second issue of CCGR I looked at, 1972/2, page 45, there the candlestick was in a different colour but the same shape and style.

The article is in German, which is going to take me a while to translate, but the words that stand out are Karlsbad, Karlovarske Sklo, O. Lipa and L. Metelak.  The model number is 542000/01. I may contact Veronika again at Moser to see what she says now.

Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

ooooh that's interesting. Do let us know what they say.
Also is that two designers mentioned?

David, great that you found the maker of your candlesticks!  Funny, though, how one can look several times through the CGR, and not see what now seems so obvious. :spls:

Phantastic that you found an ID for these!

As a German speaker I have to tell you that you can save the energy of translating; there is no relevant info in the text (especially regarding the fact that the end is missing).
Lipa and Metalak are mentioned as designers of several new ranges, then starts a description of the techniques used, and that's it...

Hopefully the Moser people can give some informations about the designer of your pieces!

Michael

Michael:

Thanks for the translation.

According to Ricke, Lubos Metelak and Oldřich Lipa were the only two designers at Karlovarske sklo until 1972 when Jiři Suhácek became the third.  That's a good enough id for me, but I'll write to Veronika to see if I can get more info.

Hi David,
did you get any more info?

I found a very nice candlestick today from this range (different shape to yours -- flattened globe, PN 54153/03 I think), with a label I have never seen before...

Rocco:

Good find.  For some reason Veronika was never able to open the links I sent her to the CGR issue that contained the pictures of the my piece.  Moser continued to say that they had never done the piece.  It would be interesting to hear what they say about your piece as it has a Moser label that was used after 1966.

Great info, David, thanks a lot!
I was not aware that this is a Moser label...
