I'm afraid I doubt it very much, Steve.
I think it's completely modern - probably Spanish????

When posting images of a piece it is always a good idea to include a good picture of the base finish - a crudely finished pontil mark would confirm the modern origins.

;) Your title confused me - I was expecting to see green aventurine in the piece!

I know the answer to this one.  There have been a couple of vases that have appeared on Fossilfly and I researched this type of glass.  This is actually an American piece made by Dale Tiffany.  It is a contemporary modern piece.

I don't think it looks the same at all! The handles are quite different.

Base shots of both sorts of bits would help a lot.

There is an absolute ton of stuff like this on the market right now - mostly wrongly attributed to Mdina.
I also think it a bit more likely that Steve in Leeds would have found a Spanish piece than a bit of American Studio Glass - although I wouldn't discount it either.

I'm sure I've seen these identified as contemporary Chinese.  I'll have a look round and see what I can find.

I am going by the colors (swirly colors in vase) and the way the aventurine looks in the vase and not the handles. Tiffany put different handles on these types of vases.  I still believe the vase is American until I see one with a different tag on it.

Here is another one I found on Ebay that is currently on the auction block.

P.S. - I wouldn't consider this vase a studio American piece but a massed produced American piece.  The name can be deceiving.

 :hi:
Perhaps it could be the case that the ones in the American market are Dale Tiffany - and the ones in Europe could be of Spanish or Chinese origins?
They are attractive decorative pieces...........
and there are an awful lot of them around!
