Blue vases identification help. Both signed.
« on: July 18, 2011, 12:44:39 PM »
Hi , I have 2 glass vases, with predominately a royal blue colouring, both signed on base, although I can't read either.
The first is approx. 135mm high & 135mm diam., with broken pontil.  See first 2 pics for side view & signature.

The second is much smaller at 90mm high x 75mm diam.

Both bought at different times, & from different places, because I liked them, but more fun trying to find out who made them.

Apologies for the photos. I took loads to get them this good!!!!!!!!

Regards,   John.

Hi,

Think M's right with the bottom signature, any chance you could upload a pic with the signature the other way up.

Thanks
Greg

Hi, thanks for replies so far.    I believe the first vase signature starts with J & may end with Y.
Year 2000 I think is correct.

Second vase signature has now been turned 180 degrees, & a further photo with flash,  highlights the surname a bit better.

   Many thanks,    John.

Look forward to someone knowing the makers.

Thanks Andy,  I think William Walker is right for the small vase. :hiclp:

HI john,
its 100% William Walker for the first one.
Its always best to list items seperately, why dont you do a new post for the 1st vase,
under a heading like , signed studio globe vase.
it does make me think its a Michael Harris follower, quite Mdinaesque (just invented a new word  ;D )

Regards Andy

(unless its easier for a moderator to seperate the two vase???)

Andy, no it isn't easier, it's a fiddly process that we can do, but it's better if they're posted separately as you say. :)
