Probably a copy of this man's style.  BUT it may be one that is not shown.

Looks very close to a number of Toikka's works.

    Hi!      :kissy:

Thanks, I did wonder if it was Toika (have I spelt that right?) because I've never handled one or seen underneath.

The base should be a giveaway to someone who knows, surely?

Probably not Toikka, the rough base and uneven threading do not look like the production quality I would associate with Toikka birds.

I have lots of these lovely hollow birds with holes in the base.  Only one is signed....Jussis, Riihimaaki, all the others have labels.  There is Haparanda Glasbruk, Taidelasi, Studio Lasi and the like.
Some of them are made in Sweden, and some in Finland.
Some of my Taidelasi birds are designed by Taikayon......but I have yet to find out who he is.
I only have one Oiva Toikka bird, and I could only afford that because it was broken.
As far as I know, Oiva Toikka birds do not have a hole in the base.....unless someone has a signed one that has!!

I don't recognise yours as Oiva Toikka,  but that doesn't stop it being a very beautiful bird.
Rosie.

    Ah thanks rosieposie!       :kissy:

I think it's a sweet, nicely made bird of some quality but please, someone out there, tell me more!

Hi Angel2,  there are some on the top and second shelf of cabinet 2 in this link.

http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,39041.105.html

The collection is a bit bigger now, and I have posted a different picture on here somewhere....I will try and find it and post the link for you.

I was also thinking it might be worth you investigating Bianco Blu as a possible maker for your bird.

If you decide to sell it.....speak to me first please.  :kissy:
