Cranberry with bits i.d.
« on: August 16, 2011, 03:27:26 PM »
Hi all

Have this small tumbler 3.25" tall 3.125" diameter top. (In cranberry of course) I notice that close up, even with the blurring effect that my contact lenses have, i still notice some sort of detritus in the glass; it sits in one corner of the tumbler like a liquid dreg might as the glass is tilted. Does this sediment in the tumbler date it as Victorian? The tumbler has a weighty feel to it. And what is the detritus?

Once again many thanks

If it is sediment, wash it. Otherwise it would be frit fallen off the roof of the oven into the melt, making it authentic. But hey do I detect a clear casing?
