KRALIK Martele ?? (( :X: = Fingers Crossed ))
« on: August 25, 2011, 08:38:54 PM »
 :hi: and  :X:

I just got this today.  I paid a bit for it (on lay-a-way) but still think I got a good price.  I am  :X: that it IS *Kralik* Glass in the Martele design -- but since I have never held a piece -- I guess it could be an intimidation too.  It looks pretty to me, but I guess that does not mean anything ELSE it is real.

Is it real?  Is it Kralik Martel?  What year would it be from?  Did I do ok with this purchase ?

I just hope it is what I thought it might be.......and not a copy or something.  :-\  As it was my treat to myself since I buy/find so much of my stuff at the Opp shop (etc).  What would something like this be worth IF it is what I hope it is -- or did I pay too much?

Thanks, I await your response, and ID.

Hi there Lustrousstone:

Yes it is (IMHO) as I ran my fingers all over it and did not feel any chips along it (or see any)....Plus I feel no chips at the rim.  I think it is in very good condition, IMHO....there appears to be no missing applied decorations (or whatever it is called) on it...

I think so!!   :spls:

It has like 3 strands of applied decoration on the sides....

yes I have.....  :hiclp:  and have book-marked Craig site !!

I also found this site here with what looks like the same design done the side -- but it is a Water Pitcher.  It says there that one dates Pre-1910 ?? Would mine??

Also, not sure if this matters but my vase is about 12.25 inches tall.  Are they commonly this tall?

I always *drool* at Craig's Site

Nice vase..... actually it would be found on the site under "Rigaree".....  applied to a martelĂ© ground.......  It is a Kralik decor shift on Loetz Nautilus.... and these pieces are commonly, or at least have been in the past... sold on ebay as Loetz......

Yes, the decor is ca. 1900 or so......

Nice find Rose.... You did good   :hiclp:  :hiclp:  :hiclp:

Rose, $200 is a whole lot of money to spend on something you weren't sure about.     Why didn't you ask before buying the item, just in case?

Rose, If that is what you paid I think you did fine with it... it is one of the larger examples I have seen in that decor. Most are small bowls and short vases in the 6 - 7 inch range.......

May I use your pics again?? I do not have images of an example in this shape?
