Yes I did. Perhaps the seller thought to check it out on here first...
Many thanks, Anthony

No, that's where I'll have seen it. In that case, I would say late 19th/early 20th century is highly likely. (My doubt was based on the fact that two identical Victorian vases either come as a pair from the same place or months/years apart, not days apart.)

Really? I never imagined it would be that old. When I saw it, it reminded me somewhat of 50s Murano pieces - but that's probably down to my untrained eye. Do you still want to see a shot of the base Christine?
Many thanks, Anthony

OK, Christine. Should I take its glowing bright green as a good or bad sign????
Many thanks, Anthony

Very good. It means it contains uranium.
(the energy from Uranium bumps the wavelength of the purple UV light up into the green spectral range)
This thing reminds me of knitted lady toilet roll holders - it gives me the heebie-jeebies...  :wsh:
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Glowing green means it's uranium glass.

No glow, I'm afraid.

Sue - I can see what you mean. Maybe I'll pop it in the loo ;-)

Here's a shot of the base.
Many thanks, Anthony
