I was just searching google images for Iittala stuff and something similar appeared. However when I clicked the images the actual website was all nuts, huge pics, pics not loading ... but here it anyway
http://britishbarcelonaclub.co.uk/Fuchsia-iittala-primavera/
All I searched for was Iittala candle holder and there was a cute little bird with gold flecks quite way down on the right hand side.
Hope this is some help.

Hi Chris....your glass bird is gorgeous!!

Scavo, the bird you saw was an Oiva Toikka Rubiinilintuu. Very nice and now out of production.

Chris, your bird is definately not Oiva Toikka's work.......but I will try to help here.

However, it is 1.30am,  we have just got in from an Abba Party, and I am feeling S.O.S.  So will persue this in the morning!! OK?
Rosie.

Not much help here, I'm afraid. The shape and blackness of the base makes me think of ICET Arte Murano of Venezuela. This is one style of base they used for the figures. I haven't seen this bird before. Very interesting. ICET does some very pretty things, so I would put it on your list of considerations for the bird.
