This piece almost looks like it could have been a student piece. Is there any such thing?
If China had made this they would have finished it. As it is, it is l little off symmetry, and as you noted the base is not polished.
The main thing I was wondering about is the outside surface looks just a tiny amount dull, or unpolished. That is on the side going up the vase, but only to the point where the neck narrows in. Do they make these in some kind of mold or shaping device where they would have to buff the sheen back later? I know nothing about this type of glass blowing.
