Scandinavian? Atomic Art Glass Vase
« on: October 24, 2011, 07:51:31 PM »
I just love this vase! but I have no idea who might have made it.
It looks like there could be a mark on the base.... but of course it might just be a scratch that's occured over time. It looks like an I possibly with a P in front of it.
Any thoughts on who might have made it?

The "Mark"

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The mark looks more like a Roman 'II', used by a few glassworks to indicate second quality - there might be an errant tiny bubble, or it sits very slightly lopsided, or somesuch small flaw invisible to most eyes.

Looks very "Orrefors" or "Kosta" or " Boda" but those companies often supplied blanks for others to decorate so attributing may be very difficult.  I favor "Kosta/Boda" for no obvious reason - just a hunch.
