My New Leerdam 'Baby' just to share with you all.
« on: November 19, 2011, 03:20:34 PM »
Many of you will know that I have a passion for glass animals...(No!  Surely not, Rosie!!).

I have quite a nice collection of Lucienne Bloch designed Leerdam Satin Glass animals,  ducks,  ducklings, dachshunds etc.....and for a long time now, I have tried to buy a perfect specimen of the Sleeping Deer.  This has been difficult as many have damage or I get outbid at the last moment (How very dare they!).

Anyway....at last, my patience has paid off, and I have my beautiful Leerdam Sleeping Deer.....dozing in the evening sun.

Hope you like it.
Rosie.

WOW!  It's gorgeous.  So serene.  The way it's lit makes it look likes it's made of metal.  Wish I had one.

There is one listed on eBay if you want one dorian_graye....but it is twice the price I paid!  8)
I was very lucky, and also lucky to get the picture just as the sun was going down...it is actually satin glass.
Thank you both d_g and Nancy for your kind comments....I still can't stop looking at it!
