Amber Pate De Verre Dove?
« on: January 03, 2012, 01:51:26 AM »
Hi everyone!
Just came across this beautiful bird and had to get it.
It looks to be mold made, and then hand carved as well.
Anyone care to venture a guess as to who made it and time period?

Thank you in advance!
Javier

Forgot to mentioned...
The piece is also very light weight for its size, and does glow under a Black Light.
Measures 6 1/2" long x about 4 1/4" tall

Im not much good at ID-ing but I will keep looking. Most of my glass books aren't up to date :) They are older books but I'll check them too. :)

Are you positive there is no worn Daum signature on it?  ;)

interesting piece, although regret I'm unable to add anything positive, other than to suggest that your bird may well not be fluorescing in the usual sense.    It may simply be similar to the effect produced when u.v. light is reflect back from white objects  -  I seem to remember that was how it made our white shirts look when we went for an evening drink - in the good old days. :)

I'm wondering if it might be cast glass?
