Help needed - vase of black and white "velvet" glass
« on: February 06, 2012, 08:46:46 PM »
And another help is needed!
Once I've found this nice vase on a flea market.
I really like it because of its matt, velvety shine.

What age is it? I would set it into the 60s, isn't it?

But can anybody help me identify it?  :help:

Thanks again! :)

I think Carlo Moretti did this sort of black glass, it does look kind of Italian to me.  :)

Thank you for your help!
I wasn't able to find the same object on the internet, but maybe it's from the series "Bicolore satinato".

I think it's hard to identify glass designerns if you don't have any hint or background knowledge. Because of this: Thanks again.  :hi:

I don't know if this is Carlo Moretti but they are quite helpful if you email them the pictures.
I think they did do a black and white range of satinato so it is worth asking them.

I've just sent two mails. One to Toso and one to Moretti.
I wonder which answers I will get. :)

I've got an answer from Carlo Moretti:

Dear Luci,
the vase in attachement is not an item you can find in our production.

Regards.

The email-adress of TOSO didn't work. I think they have some problems with the website.  :-\

Back at the familiar computer. Confirming Fratelli Toso from the 1950s.
