Early whitefriars drinking glass?
« on: February 07, 2012, 05:24:16 PM »

This is a drinking glass I have had for a while and was wondering if anyone knows who might have made it. When I first found it I thought it could be early Whitefriars because of the fact that the stem goes directly into the foot and it have a nicely polished pontil. I have also seen the same stems, hexagonal with edge cuts, on whitefriars glasses. Egg and Dart type decoration on the bowl makes me think it could be fairly early. The proportions are also earlier, with the foot a few mm larger in diameter than the bowl. The total height is about 12cm. I would be interested in any suggestions you might have as to age and make.
