"Thumbprints" on a Clear vase
« on: February 09, 2012, 10:04:24 PM »
Got this one because I like the pattern of the lower half, its 17 cm high and somewhat wide, or 10 cm from rim to rim.

Its like  thumbprints around the base that pushed the glass all the way through, its hard to take pictures of.

Any thoughts at all welcomed, even if its Ikea or something!

thanks all

Helga

This is bothering me, Hel!
I've seen mould blown tumblers similar to this, but this looks a bit different - as if it could be hot-worked?

I have to confess to quite liking a fair few mould blown tumblers and I have a small collection of various textures needing identified.

I showed a couple to Ivo when he visited a while back - but he was unable to help - in fact, he said he had the same ones and was still waiting to discover the id himself!
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

hehe...

tumbler you say, thats a glass right?

a 17 cm glass, hmm yes it does have that glass feel to it, the thickness is like a glass.

its almost as someone grabbed the bottom part with 8 fingers while it was still hot and squeezed!

thanks for wondering with me.
