Vaseline glass basket - Stevens and Williams?
« on: February 22, 2012, 08:50:22 PM »
Hi,

this lovely vaseline glass basket shows an opalescent rhombus pattern and
has an applied flower. It much resembles the piece on Dave´s site:
http://www.vaselineglass.org/blacklight.html
Do you think it´s part of the Harlequin range? Would these colours qualify
for the term ´rubina verde´?
It´s 17,5cm / 7" tall

TIA
Dirk

I may be wrong but every time i see this pink with a white-ish pattern i think of Stumpf. I'm not sure they would have made this pattern, i know very little about this sort of thing. I'm behind the sofa in case anyone jumps out and says :"Hey, noooooooooo!" :ooh:

I'm thinking Bohemian too like M. I think Dave's ID is wrong in this case. These flowers are not mat-su-noke at all and are very common. It may be English but...

I am very

Thank you all!
So we´re possibly somewhere in Europe...  ;D
Would it be Rubina Verde though? Or rather partially cased pink?

If the uranium goes over the pink, then it's not rubina verde

Dirk have you seen the thread on Ivo's opal spaghetti vase/bowl?
The pattern for his has been identified as Harrach Floret.  I'm wondering if your bowl is Harrach?

Hi,
yes, saw the thread and it reminded me of this piece, but as I understood it the name ´Floret´ refers
to these blue-ish opalescent pieces only?

I am with M, I would lean toward Harrach as a strong possibility...... Although by my own admission I do not really look at this style of glass all that much......

Although I have never been able to confirm it for sure, I have been told by people who's opinions I respect that this is believed to be a Harrach piece.
