Yello Cameo Glass Water Caraff? Any ideas of make please?
« on: March 03, 2012, 03:35:30 PM »
Hello all.
An interesting and very large water caraff I would think?  It certainly has never had a ground stopper and it sort of looks the wrong shape for a vase?  The yellow has been acid etched back and frosted to leave clear yellow design of trees and birds standing proud.  I have not seen much cameo glass in this lemon-ish yellow apart from val St lambert?.  The base is highly polished and star cut with a good wear mark so I am assuming its 1900 ish or older?  It is a big thing 27cm tall and the neck is 7cm across the top.  love to know anyone's thoughts on this.  Thanks all.  markus
