Vase ID needed
« on: March 04, 2012, 09:10:23 AM »
This vase looks Scandi - could it be Elme, Aseda, Gullaskruf? I wonder. It is not cased and made of thin glass in an amber shade - rim is flame finished - the body has a slight ribbed effect to it which puts me off as I don't see this on any of my Scandi pieces - any ideas?

Thanks Adam

What's the base like Adam?  Is it flat or inverted?  I think all the vases I've seen in this style by Gullaskruf, Aseda, Elme, Eneryda, Lindshammar etc were inverted.  The ribbed effect is a bit odd isn't it, don't think I've seen that before on these.

Hi wayne - the base is not really that inverted, unlike my Elme and Gullaskruf - it has rings where it has been moulded or blown - I don't know if this has been hand blown or not.

Adam

I heard a rumour that some of these vases are actually Polish, maybe that's what a flat base indicates, only guessing though.

The rings are usually a cooling effect I believe

The colour looks quite good for lampwork from the Lauscha region.
