Carafe signature help, please
« on: March 23, 2012, 06:59:38 PM »
I've tried every which way to read this.  I see "L  Farrell" on the first line  and sometimes " L Frauck"  Here's hoping it looks familiar to someone.  After 20 minutes and 30 photos, this really is the best.  Thanks for taking a look.

Me too, it looks very much like the bottom half of a Kremlin Kellot (Kremlin Bells) decanter (KF500 or KF502) so it would have had a stoppered bottle that sat inside the neck of the bit that you do have.

If you have the book it can be seen on page 120 of Millers 20th Century Glass by Andy McConnell.

Spot on -  here's another for K Franck Signature for comparison. The first letter 'K' is always a little hard to decipher.

Gasp!  Anyone have a spare stopper laying around?  Oh well, maybe the rest of it will show up at the charity shop.  It's happened there before with a Frederick Carder epergne.  The base was in the shop for three days before the horn finally appeared.  Somebody locally had a fine collection of mid-century Finnish glass.  Same day, same shop I snagged a Raman vase made for Johanfors.  Big Finnish population here.  The local TV station has a weekly program, Suomi Kuutsu, that just had its 50th anniversary.
