The second of these vases I have seen during the last months (the first one was heavily chipped so I didn't buy it).
20 cm high, mould-blown, with polished and bevelled rim.

It does look strikingly similar to this Spiegelau vase in Astrid's gallery (apart from the foamy glass being clear in mine, and the trailing multicoloured instead of brown), but I frequently searched the web for Spiegelau and never saw one in this style...

Any help very much appreciated!
Thanks,
Michael

I've seen some different square Spiegelau vases on Ebay with labels lately (for instance a form of opaline white with red/orange veins). Not this particular one so far (but that doesn't say anything). I can see why you're thinking in that direction. I'll keep an eye out for a labeled version.

Astrid, thanks a lot for your reply!

The similarities are quite obvious, aren't they.
Still funny that this is the second one I have seen in a few months here, while none turned up on German ebay...

So please do keep an eye out for a labeled one :)

While searching for something else, I came across a vase attributed on the site as a Svoboda piece.  Take a look about 10 items from the very bottom: http://www.artinprague.cz/index/galerie/kategorie/210

It looks like a sister to Astrid's labeled piece. I found it interesting.

I have one of those and yes, I am convinced these are by Spiegelau.

Thanks for the additional infos!

I am sure that the Svoboda attribution is a mistake...

@Ivo: do you have one like mine with the multicolour trails, or the Pulegoso type Spiegelau vase?

I've seen several of them with the Spiegelau label, so that dealer is definitely mistaken.

I have the pulegoso with treacle type but i have seen the multismear rectangular one with sticker only recently. And if in doubt, ask spiegelau!

Thanks Ivo -- I think that is enough confirmation :)

Could this be moved to the German board then by some nice mod?
