Might it had a plate under it as in a Glass Centerpiece item?  Just guessing as I did find a vase that was listed that way that HAD some similar shape, but not the exact same ??

So just throwing that out there :-\

an attractive piece.......there's an abstract look to the repeating pattern - I wonder if it's more recent than we think.        I did trawl a lot of Pamela's catalogues yesterday, but without any luck.          What is the extent of wear - if any - it might give us more of a feel of the age, and as we're assuming it's a vase, is there any water staining, which there probably should be if it were quite old and had seen some use. 
Also, does it sit on an outer foot rim, or is the base simply flat :)
