Yellow Glass Gold Frit Vase Thought Czech But Maybe Dugan
« on: May 22, 2013, 04:53:02 AM »
Hi,
Trying to id this vase - 8 1/4" in height. Originally thought maybe Czech, but was suggested I look at Dugan. I've been looking on-line but not finding this shape.
Anyone have an idea on who made this.
I haven't been here in quite sometime, hope the photos work.
Thanks for looking.
Mary

Not Dugan. Likely Bohemian, but not sure who....

Thank-you Craig. I had a brief look at your site, will have a better look tomorrow - some drop dead gorgeous pieces there! You seem to know your glass so if you don't know maybe this will remain an unknown :-[

Thanks, but there is a lot of glass I do not know...
and there are a lot of very good glass people here..... sometimes it just takes a bit before they come along to see a piece.

This has been identified as Harrach, circa 1890s. :)

Hi M,
The folks that identified this are in a Bohemian glass group on Facebook.  I'm not sure but they maybe post here on the Czech glass page. Here is a short version of their replies - 'the blank is Harrach and the frit would have had to have  been applied when the glass was hot, so a Harrach piece'.
Hope this helps - I feel confident in their ID.
Mary :)

Thank you Mary :) I'm interested because I have a tango glass rose bowl with the lobed base like your vase and have been curious as to who might have made the shape, hence wondering about the reference source.
