This is DEFINITELY Istvan's Komaromy's work - I guarantee this, as his daughter.  Sometimes,  the ankles were less 'skinny' - just like us!! It's where he joined on the dancer to the base, which he made separately as its blown, not sculpted.

As far as having a repair done, you could do worse than to contact Bob Martin (The Glass Workshop) who used to work at Pirelli's.   Hope this helps.

Thank-you so much!
I don't know terribly much about your father's work, I do know there was somebody else doing similar, but not of such high quality - and I always check for "cankles" - using this as a feature to help me decide.
Now I know I can't do that any more.  :)

Thank you so much  for answering my 'call for verification' so quickly Chris. I had no doubts at all,  but Dave needed to be certain... I hope he contacts Bob Martin and has this repaired,  I can't bear to think of your Father's work languishing broken.  :'(

My collection is slowly growing, with a new little pony added as the latest piece.... treasure!!  :)

You're most welcome - perhaps the wrong time of the month made the 'cankles'  bigger occasionally!!!
He had many students over the years and a very few went on professionally to work in his field - who is the person you know of who does similar work ?

I don't know the name, sorry.
The figures tend to be on black pedestals or have black bits of glass attached.

Maybe you mean Rowan Van der Holt's Work chopin-liszt?
Beautiful work, and I have contacted her to see if she might be interested in some restorative work....no reply as yet,  but early days.

No, not Van der Holt. Far too sophisticated for the bits I'm thinking of.
The figures tend to be white glass, often as the stems of glasses, and just a "poor-man's Komaromy" .
I'm just learning, please forgive me intruding in this thread with my rather banal comments.  :-[
