Identifying Glass Bowl - Venetian?
« on: August 22, 2013, 11:10:13 PM »
I have a cobalt blue and white bowl (approx 200 mm in height) of which I would be interested to know the name of the design (if it has one) and the manufacturer. Age might be a good bit of info it have too! It doesn't have any stickers, marks or stamps, but doesn't seem overly heavy like some of the fakes can be (I'd say below 2 kg). It doesn't have a perfectly ground base (only ground at the edges), but a cavity in the centre possibly where a glass-working rod had been used. The surface also has an excellent opalescence to it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the board. Looks like a piece of modern Polish glass to me: Jozefina or Makora

Cheers.

I'll look into both of those!

Thanks.
