ID Help Needed-Blown Swirl Art Vase
« on: September 09, 2013, 05:04:22 PM »
Not a lot to work with but vase is 10 1/4" tall with a slightly irregular shaped rim and has good thickness. Clear base has a crudely polished pontil scar and may be applied to body IDK.

Red with dark strands swirling somewhat randomly.

Weekend find that I passed over a couple of times (vase was really dusty and I thought it was plastic).  After finally reaching for it and holding vase, I realized it was handmade. After a lot of cleaning, the quality appears pretty good.

Don't think it's Murano, maybe Czech or US?

Any help appreciated!

When I look at the somewhat crude foot & the way the pontil is broken off I would venture Chinese within the past decade. Maybe someone else has a better idea.
